When Ulysses Arias came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Morson FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ulysses Arias couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Eugenia AFC getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Sam Davidson hit a great ball. In the 9th minute, Eugenia AFC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Todd Hawkins fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 11th minute Ulysses Arias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Theodore Canales saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Morson FC's Ulysses Arias slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Theodore Canales. That made the score 1-0 after 16 minutes of play. The supporters of Eugenia AFC booed when Morson FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xavier Hicks didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Kennith Riddle managed to get in a good position for a shot. Eugenia AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Kennith Riddle was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eddie Senneville breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Emmett Rojas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 26th minute Emmett Rojas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eddie Senneville saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emmett Rojas might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eddie Senneville. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Emmett Rojas ran back to his position shaking his head. After 35 played minutes Morson FC got a freekick which was hit by Antony Allen. After 37 minutes, Darell McKinley mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Morson FC and the Eugenia AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Darell McKinley hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Emmett Rojas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eddie Senneville having to interfere. Eddie Senneville took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kennith Riddle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 47 minutes into the match, Antony Allen notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Eugenia AFC's Theodore Canales. Theodore Canales was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Ulysses Arias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kennith Riddle could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Eddie Senneville made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emmett Rojas in the 72nd minute of play forced Morson FC's goalkeeper Eddie Senneville to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Emmett Rojas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Eddie Senneville tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eugenia AFC's Theodore Canales played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ulysses Arias in the 88th minute of play. Theodore Canales showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Todd Hawkins in the 95th minute of the match. In the 96th minute, Ulysses Arias had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. Josh Barnes's late challenge caught a Morson FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Josh Barnes helped the player get up and apologised. Morson FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
