With an all-out effort, Fraserdale AFC's Parker Haley threw himself towards the right post 20 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Vernon Osborn, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robt Hansen in the 23rd minute of play forced Fraserdale AFC's goalkeeper Chung Landers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Omer Wise had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vernon Osborn to strike the kick off in the second half. After 59 minutes, Earl Busch mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fraserdale AFC and the Sointula players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 59 played minutes Fraserdale AFC got a freekick which was hit by Earl Busch. Bastien Lockhart fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Parker Haley having to interfere. When Russel Coronado fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sointula's protests and gave Russel Coronado a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Sointula getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Russel Coronado hit a great ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Sointula eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
