After 16 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Foymount FC! The referee gave St. Lawrence FC a penalty, 17 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Rudolf Rhoades, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Foymount FC's Constantin Garnier. 0-1. Iréné Caron could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Jack Kidd made a huge save. After a rather tough play, St. Lawrence FC's Ezequiel Ruff got a free kick in the 23rd minute. In the 27th minute, Homer Horner fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 39th minute, Major Merchant got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After the first half St. Lawrence FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Homer Horner to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Foymount FC booed when St. Lawrence FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodger Boles didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jack Kidd showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iréné Caron in the 56th minute of the match. Major Merchant's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Constantin Garnier read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Collin Hatfield managed to get in a good position for a shot. St. Lawrence FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Collin Hatfield was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Constantin Garnier breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Constantin Garnier was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Major Merchant showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-2 in the 62 minute of play. 66 minutes into the match, St. Lawrence FC's goal looked a bit too open when Homer Horner came free, but Jack Kidd reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
