The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Noble Ashby fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reynaldo Kirkpatrick having to interfere. Fitgerald FC's Alonso Whitaker got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Elmira's Donnell Altman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alonso Whitaker in the 36th minute of play. Long Staton struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Donnell Altman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fitgerald FC. An unexpected shot in the 45th minute by Long Staton got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 47 minutes into the match, Elmira's goal looked a bit too open when Alonso Whitaker came free, but Donnell Altman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Alonso Whitaker made the kick off in the second half. Fitgerald FC's Long Staton got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Donnell Altman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Long Staton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 56th minute, Noble Ashby ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Reynaldo Kirkpatrick was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. 59 minutes into the game, Scott Brochu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fitgerald FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Elmira the free kick. Scott Brochu hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. With his leg Reynaldo Kirkpatrick managed to avoid a goal in the 64thth minute, when Elmira's Noble Ashby fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Fitgerald FC's Alonso Whitaker in the 71st minute got a chance for a shot 71st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Elmira's goalie prevented a goal. Alonso Mack sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Noble Ashby fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reynaldo Kirkpatrick having to interfere. If Long Staton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Noble Ashby succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-2 in the 88th playminute. Fitgerald FC's Reynaldo Kirkpatrick proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Fitgerald FC from getting a goal against them. Donnell Altman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Scott Brochu in the 96th minute of play. If Scott Brochu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 100th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
