The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Donnell Altman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brett Dale, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. After 13 minutes, Bert Suggs mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Macklin FC and the Elmira players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 13th match minute, Macklin FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bert Suggs to maneuver through the defense. In the 15th minute, Noble Ashby got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Noble Ashby who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 17thth minute tested the skills of Erasmo Boswell when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When Elmira's Alonso Mack in the 19th minute got a chance for a shot 19th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Macklin FC's goalie prevented a goal. Elmira's Noble Ashby got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Erasmo Boswell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alonso Mack in the 23rd minute of the match. Brett Dale sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Donnell Altman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brett Dale in the 27th minute of play. Alonso Mack sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Noble Ashby sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Macklin FC defense, Noah Howard kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Erasmo Boswell. The Macklin FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Erasmo Boswell should have stopped the shot. Erasmo Boswell came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Elmira's Noble Ashby. But to his dismay, Noble Ashby quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Brett Dale made a kick off. Erasmo Boswell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Noble Ashby, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Erasmo Boswell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Noble Ashby in the 57th minute of play. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Elmira's goalkeeper Donnell Altman, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Donnell Altman didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 63rd minute, which inside left pole to 2-1. Donnell Altman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brett Dale in the 69th minute of the match. Louis Tinsley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Donnell Altman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Albert Schmitt hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. If Alonso Mack had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 80 minutes into the match, Macklin FC's goal looked a bit too open when Alonso Mack came free, but Erasmo Boswell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alonso Mack sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Donnell Altman was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Dominick D'Aubigné. Elmira's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
