Edgar Hayes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Herman Healy having to interfere. Mason Doyle hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Lynwood Aldridge showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vespasien Kiser in the 12th minute of the match. Vespasien Kiser received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Lynwood Aldridge tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 17th minute, Justin Course got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 24th minute Vespasien Kiser shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lynwood Aldridge saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mason Doyle hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. 32 minutes into the match, Justin Course notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Marieville's Lynwood Aldridge. Lynwood Aldridge was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 44th minute Noel Christian shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Herman Healy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 46 minutes into the match, Ceylon AF's goal looked a bit too open when Thaddeus Nicholas came free, but Herman Healy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vespasien Kiser succeeded in the game's 48th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-4. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Thaddeus Nicholas made the kick off in the second half. Pascal Eason's late challenge caught a Ceylon AF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pascal Eason helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Marieville getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Pascal Eason hit a great ball. Ceylon AF's Vespasien Kiser was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 70th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. When Clemente Battle fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ceylon AF's protests and gave Clemente Battle a yellow card for diving instead. 82 minutes into the game, one of Ceylon AF:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Marieville a penalty, 84 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Rich Hankins, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Ceylon AF's Herman Healy. 2-5. In the 93rd minute, Rich Hankins hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ceylon AF's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
