The Fitgerald FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. If Long Staton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 48th minute the ball was on its way in behind Shabaqua FC's goalkeeper Odis Bragg, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alonso Whitaker stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Long Staton who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 52ndth minute tested the skills of Odis Bragg when he managed to save the team from getting behind. With a little luck, Shabaqua FC's Odis Bragg got control of the ball when Long Staton tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fitgerald FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Alonso Whitaker was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Odis Bragg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Long Staton came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Fitgerald FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Long Staton couldn't finish the play. Alonso Whitaker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Odis Bragg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 80th match minute, Shabaqua FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roland Law to maneuver through the defense.
