Alonso Whitaker started the match with the kick off. Pascal Eason hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. Scott Brochu kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. In the 13th minute Thaddeus Nicholas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reynaldo Kirkpatrick saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lynwood Aldridge made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alonso Whitaker in the 15th minute of play. When Noel Christian fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Marieville's protests and gave Noel Christian a yellow card for diving instead. In the 17th minute, Long Staton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 1-0 became the score in the 22nd minute when Thaddeus Nicholas elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Alonso Whitaker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Lynwood Aldridge tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 33rd minute Thaddeus Nicholas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reynaldo Kirkpatrick saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 36 minutes into the game, Broderick Silver was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Marieville's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fitgerald FC the free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Long Staton in the 38th minute of play forced Marieville's goalkeeper Lynwood Aldridge to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 41st minute Long Staton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lynwood Aldridge saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Reynaldo Kirkpatrick didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edgar Hayes went, in the 47th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Thaddeus Nicholas made the kick off in the second half. Long Staton struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Lynwood Aldridge didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fitgerald FC. Marieville's Edgar Hayes got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fitgerald FC's Reynaldo Kirkpatrick played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgar Hayes in the 62nd minute of play. 3-0 became the score in the 66th minute when Thaddeus Nicholas elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Lynwood Aldridge made an important save on a dangerous shot by Chad Monrency in the 75th minute. In the 79th minute Edgar Hayes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reynaldo Kirkpatrick saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lynwood Aldridge was out of position in the 88 minute of play, and Alonso Whitaker capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Alonso Whitaker really showed his touch with that goal: 3-1. In the 94th minute Thaddeus Nicholas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reynaldo Kirkpatrick saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Scott Brochu kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. 97 minutes into the match, Fitgerald FC's goal looked a bit too open when Edgar Hayes came free, but Reynaldo Kirkpatrick reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Marieville booed when Fitgerald FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 98 match minutes in a wonderful position. Scott Brochu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marieville's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
