The tension between the Newtown and the Clova players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 2 played minutes Newtown got a freekick which was hit by Bobbie Orozco. Adolfo Langlais showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeremiah Villeneuve, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Jeremiah Villeneuve's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adolfo Langlais read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 6th minute of play. 9 minutes into the match, Clova's goal looked a bit too open when Derick Robison came free, but Maximilien Henry reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 10th minute, Derick Robison got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Maximilien Henry made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Derick Robison in the 12th minute of play. In the 16th minute Jeremiah Villeneuve shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adolfo Langlais saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mac Gauthier during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Newtown booed when Clova was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mac Gauthier didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 33rd minute, Jeremiah Villeneuve got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Adolfo Langlais made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeremiah Villeneuve in the 35th minute of play. Clova's Jeremiah Villeneuve got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jeremiah Villeneuve blasted a shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Adolfo Langlais having to make a save. In the 46th play minute Emanuel Denton came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Maximilien Henry. 1-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jeremiah Villeneuve made a kick off. Barry Rankin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Charley Tyler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Jeremiah Villeneuve came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Clova fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jeremiah Villeneuve couldn't finish the play. Adolfo Langlais was a little too slow when Jeremiah Villeneuve got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 60th minute. The score was now 1-1. With a little luck, Newtown's Adolfo Langlais got control of the ball when Charley Tyler tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 71st minute, Jeremiah Villeneuve reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Adolfo Langlais. The goal made the score 1-2. Derick Robison fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maximilien Henry having to interfere. In a very dangerous position, a player in Clova fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 76th minute. Penalty! Newtown's defense didn't have a chance, in the 83rd minute, when Jeremiah Villeneuve scored to the left of an out of position Adolfo Langlais, making the score, 2-3. Charley Tyler in the 87thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Adolfo Langlais, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 90thth minute of the game Emanuel Denton who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Clova's Maximilien Henry was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Derick Robison had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emanuel Denton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jeremiah Villeneuve received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Adolfo Langlais tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Clova eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
