The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind Buckhorn FC's goalkeeper Chase Beck, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jerold Dubois charged in rather forcefully in the 5th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jerold Dubois the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Newtown booed when Buckhorn FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jerold Dubois didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 11th minute of the match, Milo Ballard tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Adolfo Langlais saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. If Milo Ballard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Derick Robison in the 14th minute of play forced Buckhorn FC's goalkeeper Chase Beck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Adolfo Langlais showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Milo Ballard, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Milo Ballard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Emanuel Denton who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 70thth minute tested the skills of Chase Beck when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Lionel Altman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Newtown's Adolfo Langlais played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Milo Ballard in the 77th minute of play. Adolfo Langlais took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Milo Ballard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lionel Altman struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Adolfo Langlais didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Buckhorn FC. When Milo Ballard came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Buckhorn FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Milo Ballard couldn't finish the play. Milo Ballard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adolfo Langlais having to interfere. In the 95thth minute of the game Milo Ballard who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Newtown's Adolfo Langlais was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 96 minutes, Andres Clements mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Buckhorn FC and the Newtown players grew even worse after the yellow card. Chase Beck made a fantastic save in the 97th minute, when Emanuel Denton sent off a good shot on target. Buckhorn FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
