Corey McCauley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Haywood Scruggs having to interfere. Ali Sears took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mitch Engle. Mitch Engle dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Corey McCauley came free with the goalkeeper in the 25th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Haywood Scruggs could save by the left post. The audience was convinced that Corey McCauley's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Haywood Scruggs was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. In the 29th minute Ali Sears shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mitch Engle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 31 minutes into the game, Oromocto's Ali Sears nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot.
