An unexpectedly hard shot by Burton Middleton in the 3rd minute of play forced Loverna AFC's goalkeeper Murray Hernandez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Burton Middleton in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Murray Hernandez saved Loverna AFC from getting behind. The supporters of Finnegan FC booed when Loverna AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vincent Schmitz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alonzo Longoria took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 8th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jamaal Childs. Finnegan FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 9 played minutes Finnegan FC got a freekick which was hit by Raymond Braden. A collision led to Finnegan FC getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Merrill Hansen hit a great ball. 21 minutes into the match, Loverna AFC's Horace Sheridan broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. When Josue Tang came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Finnegan FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Josue Tang couldn't finish the play. In the 32nd minute Christian Kimbrough shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jamaal Childs saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Josue Tang had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Josue Tang fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Murray Hernandez having to interfere. Murray Hernandez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Burton Middleton, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Val Ewing received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Jamaal Childs tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The wind increased when Val Ewing made the kick off in the second half. Loverna AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Val Ewing was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jamaal Childs breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Burton Middleton during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Finnegan FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Loverna AFC for a fine match.
