The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Sunnyslope booed when Loverna AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jarrod Barnhart didn't get a good kick on the ball. Barrett Bonilla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Murray Hernandez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Sebastian Baril's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Murray Hernandez was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. 13 minutes into the match, Barrett Bonilla had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Murray Hernandez. Loverna AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Barrett Bonilla was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 19th match minute, Sunnyslope was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Danial Oliver to maneuver through the defense. 20 minutes into the match, Loverna AFC's Horace Sheridan broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Sam Douglas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Val Ewing, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Murray Hernandez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sebastian Baril in the 27th minute of the match. Sunnyslope's defense didn't have a chance, in the 35th minute, when Val Ewing scored to the left of an out of position Sam Douglas, making the score, 1-2. Clemente Rouse hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Loverna AFC's Murray Hernandez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastian Baril in the 44th minute of play. Val Ewing received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Sam Douglas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

In the 52nd minute Val Ewing shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sam Douglas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The corner led to Loverna AFC's Palmer Gardner getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Danial Oliver kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Sam Douglas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Val Ewing, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Sam Douglas didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Val Ewing went, in the 72nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Sunnyslope's Barrett Bonilla got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 79th minute, Sebastian Baril made a precise shot to the right of Murray Hernandez. Loverna AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. During the 82nd minute of the match Danial Oliver completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Danial Oliver a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 82nd minute, Danial Oliver hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Murray Hernandez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sebastian Baril went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-4 was the resulting score. After 87 played minutes Loverna AFC got a freekick which was hit by Julian Shultz. Val Ewing sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sunnyslope's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
