Rocky Andrews fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Murray Hernandez having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Val Ewing to strike the kick off in the second half. Val Ewing struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Rashad Rubio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Loverna AFC. Louis Arnold could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Murray Hernandez made a huge save. Rashad Rubio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christian Kimbrough, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Horace Sheridan fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Loverna AFC's protests and gave Horace Sheridan a yellow card for diving instead. After 78 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Loverna AFC!
