The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 4 minutes of play, Amazon's Brendan Heard made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. After 11 minutes, Carlton Bondy mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Amazon and the Dover FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Carlton Bondy hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Amazon's Maximo Darby got control of the ball when Jeromy Larson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dover FC's Jamie Hurley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karl Gabriaux in the 17th minute of play. In the 19th match minute, Amazon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carmelo Landry to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agustin Johnson in the 21st minute of play forced Amazon's goalkeeper Maximo Darby to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jamie Hurley didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Carlton Bondy went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Maximo Darby showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julius Castle in the 26th minute of the match. If Brendan Heard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jeromy Larson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Maximo Darby made a huge save. Jeromy Larson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jeromy Larson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Maximo Darby tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Brendan Heard was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 66th minute. Amazon's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Karl Gabriaux sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 81 played minutes Amazon got a freekick which was hit by Duncan Shapiro. After a defensive mix-up in Amazon's zone, Jeromy Larson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maximo Darby came out of the goal and Jeromy Larson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Amazon's Brendan Heard got a free kick in the 91st minute. A collision led to Amazon getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Carmelo Landry hit a great ball. The Amazon supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Amazon would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
