Gérald Soucy took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 21st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Wiley Littlejohn. Guynemer's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Theo Carignan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wiley Littlejohn having to interfere. Guynemer's Wiley Littlejohn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roscoe Bergeron in the 27th minute of play. Danny Mansfield kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Theo Carignan in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wiley Littlejohn prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Kemptville AFC booed when Guynemer was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lamont Crandall didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 30th minute Roscoe Bergeron shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wiley Littlejohn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 36 minutes in the game, Danny Mansfield fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Diego Boyer having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Kemptville AFC's Brant Bourgouin got a free kick in the 37th minute. Kemptville AFC's Diego Boyer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Kemptville AFC from getting a goal against them. In the 45th minute, Paschal Odell got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 48th minute, Willis Donovan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Roscoe Bergeron to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 53 minutes, Curtis Cochran managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guynemer's supporters crossed their fingers, but Curtis Cochran was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Paschal Odell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 58 minutes, Lamont Crandall mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Guynemer and the Kemptville AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Roscoe Bergeron received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Wiley Littlejohn came out and tried to block the shot, but Roscoe Bergeron slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 76th minute.
