After 11 played minutes Maymont got a freekick which was hit by Cesar Mason. Maymont's Malcolm Griffith played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Duncan Malone in the 13th minute of play. In the 17th minute, Cesar Mason hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Maymont's goalkeeper Malcolm Griffith, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 29 minutes, Sam Boswell mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Walcott and the Maymont players grew even worse after the yellow card. The audience was convinced that Demetrius Marquez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Malcolm Griffith was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. If Dennis Winston had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Duncan Malone in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Malcolm Griffith saved Maymont from getting behind. 75 minutes into the match, Maymont's goalkeeper Malcolm Griffith had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Demetrius Marquez. Malcolm Griffith was annoyed at himself for letting in the shot. Malcolm Griffith tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Walcott's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
