After a defensive mix-up in Belleville's zone, Guillaume Séguin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ian Santana came out of the goal and Guillaume Séguin tried to chip the ball over his head. Ian Santana was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Oxford FC's Frank Stark got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Keven Edmonds's late challenge caught a Oxford FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pierre Beatty fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dominique Vickers having to interfere. Oxford FC's Dominique Vickers proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Oxford FC from getting a goal against them. Guillaume Séguin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ian Santana having to interfere. Dominique Vickers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pierre Beatty in the 48th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pierre Beatty stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Oxford FC's Dominique Vickers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pierre Beatty in the 53rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pierre Beatty in the 81st minute of play forced Oxford FC's goalkeeper Dominique Vickers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 82 minutes into the match, Bryan Espinosa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dominique Vickers. Oxford FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bryan Espinosa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. When Guillaume Séguin came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Oxford FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Guillaume Séguin couldn't finish the play. After 91 played minutes Oxford FC got a freekick which was hit by Frank Stark. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
