The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Oxford FC's Vito Duclos got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Guillaume Séguin kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. Colin Aubé recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Colin Aubé sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 13 played minutes Oxford FC got a freekick which was hit by Gustavo Terrell. Stonewall AFC's Aimé Winters pulled a muscle in his back after 15 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 15 minutes, Anthony Ball mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Oxford FC and the Stonewall AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 16 played minutes Oxford FC got a freekick which was hit by Anthony Ball. Clement Wade hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. In the 21st minute Apollinaire Judd shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronnie Starr saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Amado Land came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Stonewall AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amado Land couldn't finish the play. With his leg Ronnie Starr managed to avoid a goal in the 26thth minute, when Oxford FC's Guillaume Séguin fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Apollinaire Judd in the 29th minute of play forced Stonewall AFC's goalkeeper Ronnie Starr to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 30 minutes into the game, Curt Schwartz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Stonewall AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Oxford FC the free kick. The supporters of Oxford FC booed when Stonewall AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Curt Schwartz didn't get a good kick on the ball. 31 minutes into the game, Guillaume Séguin recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ronnie Starr. Guillaume Séguin showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Ronnie Starr had great luck who in the 34thth minute grab hold of the ball when Apollinaire Judd from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Apollinaire Judd in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ronnie Starr prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Guillaume Séguin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronnie Starr having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Apollinaire Judd was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Stonewall AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Apollinaire Judd came free, but Ronnie Starr reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Apollinaire Judd in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ronnie Starr saved Stonewall AFC from getting behind. Apollinaire Judd received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Ronnie Starr tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 62nd minute, Colin Aubé hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 64 minutes into the match, Stonewall AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Apollinaire Judd came free, but Ronnie Starr reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Anthony Ball was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 65 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, Oxford FC's Anthony Ball got a free kick in the 66th minute. Guillaume Séguin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Colin Aubé struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Dominique Vickers didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Stonewall AFC. Frank Stark kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. In the 82nd match minute, Oxford FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Willie Redd to maneuver through the defense. Guillaume Séguin struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Ronnie Starr didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Oxford FC. Oxford FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Stonewall AFC for a fine match.
