The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 3rd minute of the game. One of New Orleans FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Therien:s goal. The referee gave Therien a penalty, 6 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Miles Sapp, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of New Orleans FC's Stevie Altman. 0-1. 9 minutes into the match, Bertram LondeLalonde notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of New Orleans FC's Stevie Altman. Stevie Altman was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Stevie Altman stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Modestine Riley's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. In the 17th minute, Perceval Hodges made a precise shot to the right of Stevie Altman. New Orleans FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Stevie Altman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Modestine Riley in the 24th minute of the match. After 25 minutes, Wilburn Romero mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Therien and the New Orleans FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Stevie Altman had in the 31stth minute some difficulties stopping Miles Sapp's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Tommy Carter took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Stevie Altman. Stevie Altman dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. In a very dangerous position, a player in New Orleans FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 37th minute. Penalty! Miles Sapp shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Wilburn Romero kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Perceval Hodges stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Kelly Landis stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mohammed Barajas's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilburn Romero in the 53rd minute of play forced New Orleans FC's goalkeeper Stevie Altman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 54 minutes, Modestine Riley mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Therien and the New Orleans FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Modestine Riley kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. A sloppy throw-in by Jourdain Irizarry in the 61st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by New Orleans FC's Li Zhang. In the 65th minute, Perceval Hodges reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Stevie Altman. The goal made the score 0-7. 69 minutes into the match, New Orleans FC's goal looked a bit too open when Perceval Hodges came free, but Stevie Altman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stevie Altman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jourdain Irizarry, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Therien's Kelly Landis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Bain in the 74th minute of play. Miguel Bain received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Kelly Landis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Miguel Bain sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to New Orleans FC getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Frankie Ingram hit a great ball. With a little luck, New Orleans FC's Stevie Altman got control of the ball when Tommy Carter tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 94th minute Jourdain Irizarry shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stevie Altman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
