The supporters of Oxford FC booed when New Orleans FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Whitney Grubb didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 17 minutes, Frankie Ingram managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. New Orleans FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frankie Ingram was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. New Orleans FC's Li Zhang managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Austin Medeiros in the 20 minute of the game. When Frankie Ingram came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the New Orleans FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frankie Ingram couldn't finish the play. Frank Stark kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. New Orleans FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 27th minute, when Apollinaire Judd scored to the left of an out of position Stevie Altman, making the score, 1-2. After 29 played minutes Oxford FC got a freekick which was hit by Vito Duclos. Stevie Altman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anthony Ball in the 32nd minute of play. 33 minutes into the match, New Orleans FC's goalkeeper Stevie Altman had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Anthony Ball. After 35 played minutes Oxford FC got a freekick which was hit by Anthony Ball. Stevie Altman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guillaume Séguin, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Frankie Ingram sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 43rd minute Frank Stark shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stevie Altman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Guillaume Séguin took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Stevie Altman. Stevie Altman dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Stevie Altman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Guillaume Séguin in the 47th minute. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Stephan Knox hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Guillaume Séguin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Frankie Ingram came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the New Orleans FC fans jumped to their feet. Pat Blake took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 58th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Stevie Altman. New Orleans FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Miguel Bain sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Frankie Ingram received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Dominique Vickers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 65th minute, Isaac Kim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Oxford FC's Dominique Vickers got control of the ball when Whitney Grubb tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 74 minutes, Whitney Grubb managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. New Orleans FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Whitney Grubb was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Oxford FC's Dominique Vickers proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Oxford FC from getting a goal against them. Oxford FC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though New Orleans FC had controlled the match.
