New Orleans FC were awarded a corner in the 7th minute after Stonewall AFC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Miguel Bain took the corner. A well-hit corner resulted in Dave Fortin heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. In the 10thth minute of the game Frankie Ingram who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Stonewall AFC's Ronnie Starr was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Stonewall AFC getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Dave Siegel hit a great ball. Stevie Altman made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Amado Land sent off a good shot on target. 20 minutes into the match, New Orleans FC's goal looked a bit too open when Curt Schwartz came free, but Stevie Altman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 22 minutes into the match, New Orleans FC's goalkeeper Stevie Altman had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Amado Land. With an all-out effort, Stonewall AFC's Stevie Altman threw himself towards the right post 27 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Marcos Faulk, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. New Orleans FC's Stevie Altman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Colin Aubé in the 30th minute of play. Stephan Knox charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Stephan Knox the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 31st minute, Stephan Knox hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Clement Wade was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 32nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Stevie Altman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Colin Aubé, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. With an all-out effort, Stonewall AFC's Stevie Altman threw himself towards the right post 35 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Colin Aubé, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. New Orleans FC's Stevie Altman proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save New Orleans FC from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Curt Schwartz in the 44th minute of play forced New Orleans FC's goalkeeper Stevie Altman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 47 played minutes Colin Aubé rounded New Orleans FC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Frankie Ingram made a kick off. After some careless play in the New Orleans FC defense, Colin Aubé kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Stevie Altman. The New Orleans FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Stevie Altman should have stopped the shot. Stonewall AFC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Frankie Ingram 59 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-2. Amado Land fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stevie Altman having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Colin Aubé in the 64th minute of play forced New Orleans FC's goalkeeper Stevie Altman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 70th match minute, New Orleans FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isaac Kim to maneuver through the defense. In the 71st minute of the match Clement Wade sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Stevie Altman skillfully saved the ball. Marcos Faulk's late challenge caught a New Orleans FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marcos Faulk helped the player get up and apologised. An unexpectedly hard shot by Colin Aubé in the 75th minute of play forced New Orleans FC's goalkeeper Stevie Altman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stonewall AFC's Amado Land pulled a muscle in his back after 78 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 78 minutes, Miguel Bain mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the New Orleans FC and the Stonewall AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 79 played minutes New Orleans FC got a freekick which was hit by Miguel Bain. In the 84th minute, Colin Aubé ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Stevie Altman was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. Ronnie Starr made an important save on a dangerous shot by Frankie Ingram in the 88th minute. When Frankie Ingram came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the New Orleans FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frankie Ingram couldn't finish the play. Mohammed Barajas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronnie Starr having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Stonewall AFC fans cheered their team off the field, for while New Orleans FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
