After a defensive mix-up in Souris's zone, Neal Sauriol stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jermaine Parr came out of the goal and Neal Sauriol tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Neal Sauriol in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jermaine Parr saved Souris from getting behind. Miles Fischer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Cesar Sharpe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jermaine Parr took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Neal Sauriol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 16th minute, Miles Fischer made a precise shot to the right of Cesar Sharpe. Wellington's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 19th minute Miles Fischer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cesar Sharpe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 33rd minute, Erin Goodrich got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
