Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Shawn Stout made the kick off which started today's match. In the 12th minute of the match Jose Grove sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vern Smiley skillfully saved the ball. In the 14th minute, Hecate FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Marcel Prince fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 16 minutes into the match, Désiré Rowland notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Widewater's Paul Rutherford. Paul Rutherford was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 18th minute Désiré Rowland shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paul Rutherford saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Shawn Stout sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 22 minutes, Minh Thomson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Widewater and the Hecate FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 22nd minute, Minh Thomson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Shawn Stout received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Paul Rutherford tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 47th minute, Désiré Rowland got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bruce McGraw to make the kick off. Hecate FC's Désiré Rowland got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Philibert Trotter kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Minh Thomson hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Bruce McGraw's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vern Smiley read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Désiré Rowland during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Widewater booed when Hecate FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Désiré Rowland didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcel Prince sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Marcel Prince came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Widewater fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcel Prince couldn't finish the play. After 82 played minutes Widewater got a freekick which was hit by Minh Thomson. After 87 minutes of play, Widewater's Marcel Prince made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vern Smiley was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Marcel Prince managed to get in a good position for a shot. Widewater's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcel Prince was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vern Smiley breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Bruce McGraw had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Widewater booed when Hecate FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Evan Pugh didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 94 played minutes, Widewater's Raymundo Verreau shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Vern Smiley came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Widewater reached it.
