Quetico's supporters rose to their feet, but Maynard Boudreaux was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chas Ellison breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Valère Auclair received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Chas Ellison tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carol Wells sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 13 played minutes Walsh got a freekick which was hit by Rocco Whitaker. Quetico's Columbus Canales played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carol Wells in the 15th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, Walsh's goal looked a bit too open when Valère Auclair came free, but Chas Ellison reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 20 minutes into the match, Valère Auclair had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Chas Ellison. Walsh's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Valère Auclair was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 28th minute Carol Wells shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Columbus Canales saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 30th match minute, Quetico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reuben Connelly to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot by Rocco Whitaker from long distance, 31 minutes into the match, got Columbus Canales's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Maynard Boudreaux sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Walsh players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Quetico were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carol Wells to make the kick off. When Carol Wells came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Walsh fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carol Wells couldn't finish the play. Duane Zimmer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Walsh's Chas Ellison got control of the ball when Maynard Boudreaux tried to sneak it across the goal line. Columbus Canales made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carol Wells in the 69th minute of play. The supporters of Quetico booed when Walsh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jeff Émond didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jeffry Sterling's late challenge caught a Walsh's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jeffry Sterling helped the player get up and apologised. In the 80th minute, Jeffry Sterling hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 81 minutes into the match, Walsh's Rocco Whitaker broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After 83 minutes, Felix Dionne mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Walsh and the Quetico players grew even worse after the yellow card. Felix Dionne kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match.
