Seating: 1733, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Valère Auclair kicked off to start the match. Albert Lamb charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Albert Lamb the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 3 played minutes Sturgis FC got a freekick which was hit by Albert Lamb. After 6 played minutes Quetico got a freekick which was hit by Jeffry Sterling. Columbus Canales showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Micheal Koch, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. In the 18th minute Kermit Lyons shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Columbus Canales saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 21st minute of the match, Maynard Boudreaux got a very nice opportunity to score, but Sylvain Glover was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. With a little luck, Sturgis FC's Sylvain Glover got control of the ball when Maynard Boudreaux tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 27th minute, Kermit Lyons made a precise shot to the right of Columbus Canales. Quetico's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. During the 30th minute of the match Jeffry Sterling completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Jeffry Sterling a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, Quetico's Jeffry Sterling got a free kick in the 31st minute. Micheal Koch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kermit Lyons to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Sturgis FC's Jonathon Gunn got a free kick in the 66th minute. Cornelius Guy missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 67 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Sylvain Glover right hand side. Maynard Boudreaux sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Micheal Koch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Quetico getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Darnell Louis hit a great ball. Sylvain Glover showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maynard Boudreaux, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Micheal Koch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Columbus Canales having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Quetico's zone, Kermit Lyons stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Columbus Canales came out of the goal and Kermit Lyons tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cornelius Guy charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cornelius Guy the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Kermit Lyons managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sturgis FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Kermit Lyons was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Columbus Canales breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Reuben Connelly sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Sturgis FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
