In the 25th minute, Luigi Bailey got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the game's 41st minute Arvida FC's Son Chan took a hard shot from long distance, a kick which went into the net just to the right of Donald Holliday and thus the score was 0-1. 47 minutes into the match, Antigonish AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Gerardo Acosta came free, but Donald Holliday reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gerardo Acosta made a kick off. 56 minutes into the game, one of Antigonish AFC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Arvida FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
