The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Andreas Lester during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 18th minute of the match Bo Bouchard sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lane Davignon skillfully saved the ball. Levi Grubb sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Headquarters's Lane Davignon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Herb Marois in the 23rd minute of play. Osvaldo Andersen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donnie Wynn having to interfere. Osvaldo Andersen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Donnie Wynn made a huge save. Levi Grubb recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Herb Marois in the 41st minute of play forced Headquarters's goalkeeper Lane Davignon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 41 minutes of play, Oliver's Herb Marois made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lane Davignon was left in no man's land by his defense there! Oliver's Donnie Wynn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Oliver from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Oliver's Donnie Wynn got control of the ball when Osvaldo Andersen tried to sneak it across the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Emilio Hamm to strike the kick off in the second half. When Osvaldo Andersen came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Headquarters fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Osvaldo Andersen couldn't finish the play. When Herb Marois, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 66 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Lane Davignon was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Headquarters's Emilio Hamm got a free kick in the 74th minute. Herb Marois sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 78th minute Levi Grubb shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lane Davignon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 82 minutes into the match, Osvaldo Andersen notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Oliver's Donnie Wynn. Donnie Wynn was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Osvaldo Andersen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donnie Wynn having to interfere. In the 93rd minute Osvaldo Andersen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donnie Wynn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 97th minute, Headquarters's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Levi Grubb fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
