Francisco Painter recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sydney Story showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonathon Pritchett, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. After 21 minutes, Alberto Fagan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mooyie AFC and the Keene FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Keene FC's goalkeeper Rick Charest, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Reynaldo Echeverri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rick Charest having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 31 minutes, Javier Crandall took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Rick Charest to make any attempt to save it. After 45 played minutes Mooyie AFC got a freekick which was hit by Reynaldo Echeverri. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Sydney Story showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonathon Pritchett, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Raphaël Steele recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Keene FC's zone, Alexis Jobin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rick Charest came out of the goal and Alexis Jobin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Javier Crandall received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Rick Charest tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Jonathon Pritchett managed to get in a good position for a shot. Keene FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jonathon Pritchett was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sydney Story breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The nice shot from Raphaël Steele in the 85thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Sydney Story had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post.
