Seating: 1730, VIP seats: 0) Norman AFC's Romain Bernal started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience was convinced that Graham McLean's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Andreas Hairston was relentless in the 4th minute of the game. After 5 played minutes, Fontas's Gilbert Meredith shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Andreas Hairston came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Fontas reached it. With a little luck, Norman AFC's Andreas Hairston got control of the ball when Del Fischer tried to sneak it across the goal line. Andreas Hairston showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Graham McLean, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Graham McLean in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Andreas Hairston saved Norman AFC from getting behind. When Del Fischer came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Fontas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Del Fischer couldn't finish the play. Graham McLean fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andreas Hairston having to interfere. 22 minutes into the match, Fontas's goal looked a bit too open when Anselme Mendez came free, but Juste Pate reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 26th match minute, Fontas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gabriel Matlock to maneuver through the defense. Anselme Mendez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Fontas's zone, Romain Bernal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juste Pate came out of the goal and Romain Bernal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Graham McLean sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Juste Pate came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by Norman AFC's Anselme Mendez. But to his dismay, Anselme Mendez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Reuben Larocque's late challenge caught a Norman AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Reuben Larocque helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Fontas getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Reuben Larocque hit a great ball. Del Fischer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Graham McLean stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Andreas Hairston made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reuben Larocque in the 53rd minute of play. When Romain Bernal came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Norman AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Romain Bernal couldn't finish the play. Del Fischer kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Juste Pate took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romain Bernal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Dwain Abbott fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Norman AFC's protests and gave Dwain Abbott a yellow card for diving instead. In the 81st minute, Dwain Abbott hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Fontas getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Gilbert Meredith hit a great ball. Gabriel Matlock fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andreas Hairston having to interfere. The Norman AFC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
