The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Keven Pellerin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bruno Greer in the 5th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ferdinand Tanner during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ferdinand Tanner kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. With 8 minutes on the clock, Huey Fecteau commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Quebec AFC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 7th minute. Penalty! Rogelio Bonami recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Quebec AFC getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Bruno Greer hit a great ball. After 25 played minutes Lunenburg AFC got a freekick which was hit by Donnie Mays. If Bruno Greer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bruno Greer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lorenzo Keller showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eustaquio Miller, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rogelio Bonami in the 47th minute of play forced Quebec AFC's goalkeeper Lorenzo Keller to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

A collision led to Lunenburg AFC getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Lucas Riquet hit a great ball. Bruno Greer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Eustaquio Miller fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lorenzo Keller having to interfere. Lorenzo Keller made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rogelio Bonami in the 65th minute of play. Bruno Greer struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Keven Pellerin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Quebec AFC. Keven Pellerin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ahmad Fairchild in the 75th minute of play. If Bruno Greer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dalton Helms might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Keven Pellerin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dalton Helms ran back to his position shaking his head. Keven Pellerin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bruno Greer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bruno Greer in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Keven Pellerin saved Lunenburg AFC from getting behind. After having played for 84 minutes, Dalton Helms managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Quebec AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dalton Helms was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Quebec AFC's Bruno Greer got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 88 minutes, Donnie Mays mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lunenburg AFC and the Quebec AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Donnie Mays hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. When Bruno Greer came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Quebec AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bruno Greer couldn't finish the play. Keven Pellerin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bruno Greer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Quebec AFC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Lunenburg AFC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
