Thierry Zapata fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rick Charest having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Keene FC's Francisco Painter got a free kick in the 12th minute. If Elisha Terry had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Keene FC getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Francisco Painter hit a great ball. 16 minutes into the match, Thierry Zapata had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rick Charest. Keene FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Thierry Zapata was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Keene FC's Rick Charest played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thierry Zapata in the 21st minute of play. In the 22nd minute, Elisha Terry had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jack Austin during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jack Austin kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Wilford Jacobsen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Raphaël Steele in the 25th minute. Raphaël Steele fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilford Jacobsen having to interfere. In the 30th minute, Raphaël Steele got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Raphaël Steele's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 32ndth minute, Wilford Jacobsen skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Thierry Zapata received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Rick Charest tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wilford Jacobsen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonathon Pritchett, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Thierry Zapata managed to get in a good position for a shot. Burstall's supporters rose to their feet, but Thierry Zapata was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rick Charest breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half Burstall were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Wilford Jacobsen came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by Keene FC's Raphaël Steele. But to his dismay, Raphaël Steele quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. If Randal Clemons had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wilford Jacobsen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raphaël Steele, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 72nd match minute, Burstall was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thierry Zapata to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Burstall's Evrard Jacobson got a free kick in the 75th minute. Wilford Jacobsen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonathon Pritchett, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Wilford Jacobsen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raphaël Steele in the 81st minute of the match. Thierry Zapata sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 84th minute, Raphaël Steele got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Burstall booed when Keene FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raphaël Steele didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thierry Zapata's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rick Charest read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
