In the 9th minute, Nick Quirion hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Turbine's Mariano Hager got control of the ball when Milton Connolly tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Turbine booed when Pennington was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Faustino Sumner didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 19 minutes, Milton Connolly managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pennington's supporters crossed their fingers, but Milton Connolly was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 20th minute, Florentin Kurtz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Milton Connolly had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Faustino Sumner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mariano Hager having to interfere. Florentin Kurtz hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Neville Saucier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Stevie Grimm tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 34 minutes into the game, Garrett Weber was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Turbine's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pennington the free kick. After 34 played minutes Turbine got a freekick which was hit by Garrett Weber. Lamar Gleason received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Mariano Hager tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mariano Hager showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Faustino Sumner, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Milton Connolly fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mariano Hager having to interfere.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Faustino Sumner stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Faustino Sumner came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Pennington fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Faustino Sumner couldn't finish the play. 57 minutes into the match, Pennington's goalkeeper Stevie Grimm had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mathis Crump. Mariano Hager showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Faustino Sumner, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. In the 61st minute Faustino Sumner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mariano Hager saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Milton Connolly's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mariano Hager read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. Milton Connolly struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Mariano Hager didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pennington. Milton Connolly took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mariano Hager. Mariano Hager dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. After having played for 93 minutes, Milton Connolly managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
