After 2 played minutes Dover got a freekick which was hit by Fernand Harris. If Frédéric Gorman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Dover's Fernand Harris slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Carrol Benedict. That made the score 1-0 after 10 minutes of play. Thanh Sadler was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 18 minutes into the match. After 18 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Dover! Nathanael Fournier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frédéric Gorman in the 27th minute of the match. Fernand Harris received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Carrol Benedict came out and tried to block the shot, but Fernand Harris slotted it home off the left post making it 3-1 in the 30th minute. Carrol Benedict showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernand Harris in the 40th minute of the match. 4-1 became the score in the 44th minute when Jean Viens elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Frédéric Gorman was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Jean Viens got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Carrol Benedict took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernand Harris, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Carrol Benedict didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Dover's Fernand Harris shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 5-1 in the ordered_time% minute. The supporters of Dover booed when Kildonan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Blair Waldron didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fernand Harris received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Carrol Benedict tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Herbert Brodeur's late challenge caught a Dover's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Herbert Brodeur helped the player get up and apologised. Marlin McDermott charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marlin McDermott the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Fernand Harris might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Carrol Benedict. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fernand Harris ran back to his position shaking his head. Carrol Benedict came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by Dover's Jean Viens. But to his dismay, Jean Viens quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-1. There was no doubt that Dover were the better team. Dover's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
