Sebastian Walton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dale Payne in the 38th minute of play. Pons Britt was out of position in the 41 minute of play, and Jordan Corey capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Jordan Corey really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jordan Corey made a kick off. If Kenneth Keyes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. Dale Payne fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastian Walton having to interfere. ILJ Sporting's Dale Payne got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dale Payne couldn't finish the play. Wetaskiwin FC's Jordan Corey got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 96th minute, Dale Payne got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Wetaskiwin FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
