Steven Therrien's late challenge caught a Squamish's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Steven Therrien helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Squamish booed when Kildonan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Steven Therrien didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dariusz Piechna in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carrol Benedict prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Kildonan's zone, Dariusz Piechna stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carrol Benedict came out of the goal and Dariusz Piechna tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 94th minute of the game. One of Kildonan:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Squamish:s goal. When the referee ended the match the Squamish players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
