Bruno Raines's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 10thth minute, Carrol Benedict skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If Vito Hamilton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Vito Hamilton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kildonan's supporters rose to their feet, but Vito Hamilton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcellin Bourgeau breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 18th minute, Florencio Keller made a precise shot to the right of Carrol Benedict. Kildonan's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Jesse Holloway received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Carrol Benedict tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Frédéric Gorman's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcellin Bourgeau was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. After 28 minutes, Ivan Diamond mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Murdochville FC and the Kildonan players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 30th minute Frédéric Gorman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcellin Bourgeau saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rafael LaGarde's late challenge caught a Kildonan's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rafael LaGarde helped the player get up and apologised. Murdochville FC's Marcellin Bourgeau played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vito Hamilton in the 37th minute of play. Carrol Benedict showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jesse Holloway in the 38th minute of the match. In the 42nd match minute, Kildonan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Herbert Brodeur to maneuver through the defense. Jesse Holloway struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Carrol Benedict didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Murdochville FC. When Herbert Brodeur fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kildonan's protests and gave Herbert Brodeur a yellow card for diving instead. A hard shot 47 in the game by Bruno Raines from a close distance when the talented Carrol Benedict managed to make a qualified save. Kildonan's players were relieved.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Frédéric Gorman was the one to do the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bruno Raines in the 51st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carrol Benedict prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bruno Raines's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Carrol Benedict read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. Marcellin Bourgeau showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frédéric Gorman in the 56th minute of the match. After 87 played minutes Kildonan got a freekick which was hit by Nicholas Cooke. If Frédéric Gorman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 94 minutes, Eddy Griggs mouthed his way into the referee's book.
