Ashley Horton blasted a shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wally Todd having to make a save. Dong Maloney could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Bernie Middleton made a huge save. The supporters of Yarmouth AFC booed when Grainger was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teodoro Voss didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Ashley Horton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dong Maloney fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernie Middleton having to interfere. 31 minutes into the match, Yarmouth AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Thad Walter came free, but Wally Todd reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wally Todd showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ashley Horton in the 34th minute of the match. In the 41st minute, Ashley Horton left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Grainger fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Yarmouth AFC's Chang Leon got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Chang Leon made a kick off. Bernie Middleton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adolph Castle in the 52nd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Yarmouth AFC's zone, Thad Walter stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wally Todd came out of the goal and Thad Walter tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ashley Horton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Wally Todd tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 62nd minute, Grainger's Ashley Horton dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. In the 64th match minute, Grainger was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teodoro Voss to maneuver through the defense. 68 minutes into the match, Chang Leon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bernie Middleton. Grainger's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Chang Leon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Ashley Horton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thad Walter blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wally Todd having to make a save. During the 78th minute of the match Teodoro Voss completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Teodoro Voss a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Teodoro Voss kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dong Maloney in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bernie Middleton saved Grainger from getting behind. In the 96th minute Chang Leon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernie Middleton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Grainger's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
