Emil Fortier was left in no man's land by his defense there! Vassar's Elden Lajeunesse got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Diodore Carney fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vassar's protests and gave Diodore Carney a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Vassar getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Diodore Carney hit a great ball. Stanton Palmer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cameron Langelier in the 19th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling August Cardwell in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Emil Fortier prevented the ball from getting in the gole. McGillivray FC's Emil Fortier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by August Cardwell in the 22nd minute of play. August Cardwell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emil Fortier having to interfere. If August Cardwell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. August Cardwell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Emil Fortier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in McGillivray FC's zone, August Cardwell stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emil Fortier came out of the goal and August Cardwell tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Vassar fans' excitement grew in the 33rd match minute when Vassar's Elden Lajeunesse looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Emil Fortier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from August Cardwell, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and August Cardwell made a kick off. When the match clock showed 51 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Elden Lajeunesse sped through McGillivray FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Emil Fortier. In the 58th minute, McGillivray FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Elden Lajeunesse fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Elden Lajeunesse received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Emil Fortier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. August Cardwell kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. When Elden Lajeunesse came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Vassar fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elden Lajeunesse couldn't finish the play. Elden Lajeunesse sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vassar's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
