The audience thought a goal was coming when Cameron Langelier got free with Roberto Burgos in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ottova FC's Erich Bourque got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rodney Kiser received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Emil Fortier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Andrea Watt charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Andrea Watt the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Ottova FC getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Emil Fortier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 25 minutes into the match, McGillivray FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rodney Kiser came free, but Emil Fortier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 26 minutes, Roberto Burgos successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After a defensive mix-up in Ottova FC's zone, Cameron Langelier stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roberto Burgos came out of the goal and Cameron Langelier tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind McGillivray FC's goalkeeper Emil Fortier, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cameron Langelier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Cameron Langelier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rodney Kiser in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Emil Fortier prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 39 minutes into the game, Ottova FC's Rodney Kiser nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Emil Fortier made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 43rd minute, Rodney Kiser made a precise shot to the right of Emil Fortier. McGillivray FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. After the first half Ottova FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 55th match minute, McGillivray FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Micheal Holliday to maneuver through the defense. But to his dismay, Darrell Hutton quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Burton Wilcox in the 80th minute of play forced Ottova FC's goalkeeper Roberto Burgos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 81st minute, Rodney Kiser made a precise shot to the right of Emil Fortier. McGillivray FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. 86 minutes into the match, Ottova FC's Rodney Kiser sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Emil Fortier narrowly saved just below the crossbar. McGillivray FC's Cameron Langelier got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 92nd minute, Yves Adair got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
