Spectators: 6728 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1728, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Patrick Rosado got the match started through his kick off. 5 minutes into the match, Matapedia's goalkeeper Christian Fluet had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jeff Charpie. After having played for 11 minutes, Jeff Charpie managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Surprise FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jeff Charpie was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jeff Charpie was extremely unlucky when he, in the 13th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Jeff Charpie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Christian Fluet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Alberto Sizemore managed to get in a good position for a shot. Surprise FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Alberto Sizemore was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Christian Fluet breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 21st minute of the match, Alberto Sizemore tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Christian Fluet saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Basil Richmond received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Issac Wiggins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 28 minutes into the game, Bernard Kenny was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Surprise FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Matapedia the free kick. A collision led to Surprise FC getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Bernard Kenny hit a great ball. Issac Wiggins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patrick Rosado in the 31st minute of play. 36 minutes in the game, Alberto Sizemore fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Christian Fluet having to interfere. 37 minutes into the match, Surprise FC's Alberto Sizemore sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Christian Fluet narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Surprise FC's Issac Wiggins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patrick Rosado in the 38th minute of play. Alberto Sizemore had several of the Matapedia's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 42 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-0 score and a disappointed Christian Fluet as he didn't even see the shot coming. If Jeff Charpie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alberto Sizemore made a kick off. When Kirby Baker fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Matapedia's protests and gave Kirby Baker a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Matapedia getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Kirby Baker hit a great ball. 60 minutes into the match, Surprise FC's goalkeeper Issac Wiggins had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Patrick Rosado. Malik Lane hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. After 63 played minutes Surprise FC got a freekick which was hit by Cory Zamora. Basil Richmond received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Issac Wiggins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Alberto Sizemore had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jeff Charpie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Christian Fluet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Christian Fluet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Sizemore, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Surprise FC were awarded a corner in the 76th minute after Matapedia's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Maria Larsen took the corner. The corner led Surprise FC's Maria Larsen to fire away a dangerous shot which Christian Fluet despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Patrick Rosado struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Issac Wiggins didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Matapedia. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind Matapedia's goalkeeper Christian Fluet, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Patrick Rosado came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Matapedia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Patrick Rosado couldn't finish the play. Matapedia's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
