Issac Wiggins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Clément Gibbs in the 15th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Malik Lane during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 25th minute, Malik Lane hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 26th match minute, Surprise FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cory Zamora to maneuver through the defense. If Jeff Charpie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sturgis's Dane Rader played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Sizemore in the 34th minute of play. 37 minutes into the match, Sturgis's Clément Gibbs sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Issac Wiggins narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Malik Lane hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Sturgis's Trenton Lacroix couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 39th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Surprise FC. In the 41st minute Clément Gibbs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Issac Wiggins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In a very dangerous position, a player in Surprise FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 42nd minute. Penalty! Trenton Lacroix shot the penalty kick right outside the post.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Clément Gibbs was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Surprise FC getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Malik Lane hit a great ball. Dane Rader made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Sizemore in the 60th minute of play. In the 67th minute, Jeff Charpie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jeff Charpie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Dane Rader tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sturgis's Dane Rader played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Sizemore in the 72nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Clément Gibbs in the 78th minute of play forced Surprise FC's goalkeeper Issac Wiggins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Sturgis's Clément Gibbs got a free kick in the 79th minute. In the 83rd minute of the match, Alberto Sizemore tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Dane Rader saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Alberto Sizemore fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dane Rader having to interfere. Alberto Sizemore sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Chants of Surprise FC echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Sturgis had held the ball for most of the match.
