Sang Gagné made an important save on a dangerous shot by Loup Osborne in the 15th minute. A collision led to Skownan getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Len Lopez hit a great ball. Loup Osborne received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Sang Gagné tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Skownan defense, Loup Osborne kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sang Gagné. The Skownan fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sang Gagné should have stopped the shot. In the 25th minute Gilbert Grimm shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carl Jackson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carl Jackson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ed Krause in the 30th minute of play. Sang Gagné made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Loup Osborne sent off a good shot on target. 35 minutes into the match, Barich's goal looked a bit too open when Gilbert Grimm came free, but Carl Jackson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 37th minute Corin Rudolph shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sang Gagné saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Loup Osborne fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sang Gagné having to interfere. Gilbert Grimm might have been able to make a better finish in the 48th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Carl Jackson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gilbert Grimm ran back to his position shaking his head. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ed Krause to make the kick off. Carl Jackson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ed Krause in the 54th minute of the match. Sang Gagné made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Corin Rudolph in the 66th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 67 minutes, Corin Rudolph put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Sang Gagné. Ed Krause might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Carl Jackson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ed Krause ran back to his position shaking his head. After 73 played minutes Barich got a freekick which was hit by Herb Rutherford. After having played for 77 minutes, Gilbert Grimm managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Skownan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gilbert Grimm was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ed Krause sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Len Lopez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 89th minute, Herb Rutherford hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Len Lopez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Barich's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
