A collision led to Crossfield getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Lenny Kenney hit a great ball. Raul Bullock's late challenge caught a Ashcroft FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Raul Bullock helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 7th minute of the game. One of Crossfield:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ashcroft FC:s goal. The referee gave Ashcroft FC a penalty, 9 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Duncan Ellis, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Crossfield's Stephen Dove. 0-1. After a rather tough play, Crossfield's Lenny Kenney got a free kick in the 13th minute. When Ashcroft FC's Stacey Hemphill in the 14th minute got a chance for a shot 14th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Crossfield's goalie prevented a goal. Ashcroft FC's Daryl Corbett played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rickey Leach in the 28th minute of play. Daryl Corbett made an important save on a dangerous shot by Michel Preston in the 29th minute. Daryl Corbett showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rickey Leach in the 31st minute of the match. When Michel Preston fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Crossfield's protests and gave Michel Preston a yellow card for diving instead. After a defensive mix-up in Crossfield's zone, Lynn Bravo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stephen Dove came out of the goal and Lynn Bravo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 41stth minute of the game Rickey Leach who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ashcroft FC's Daryl Corbett was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Daryl Corbett made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rickey Leach in the 46th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rickey Leach to strike the kick off in the second half. After 52 minutes, Rickey Leach made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. Ashcroft FC's Daryl Corbett tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 64 minutes into the match, Ashcroft FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rickey Leach came free, but Daryl Corbett reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rickey Leach received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Daryl Corbett tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 70th minute, Michel Preston ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Daryl Corbett was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Rickey Leach managed to get in a good position for a shot. Crossfield's supporters rose to their feet, but Rickey Leach was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Daryl Corbett breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 78th minute Rickey Leach shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daryl Corbett saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Crossfield's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Xavier Hadley in the 79th minute. Patrick Lange charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Patrick Lange the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Patrick Lange hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. In the 84th minute, Michel Preston ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Daryl Corbett was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. Rickey Leach struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Daryl Corbett didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Crossfield. An unexpectedly hard shot by Michel Preston in the 91st minute of play forced Ashcroft FC's goalkeeper Daryl Corbett to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Crossfield fans cheered their team off the field, for while Ashcroft FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
