Jean Couturier charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jean Couturier the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 4 played minutes Winterton AFC got a freekick which was hit by Jean Couturier. In the 9th minute Kendrick Vernadeau shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clément Rucker saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Len Hannah during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 11th minute of the match Hunter Mabry sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Clément Rucker skillfully saved the ball. Clément Rucker made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kendrick Vernadeau in the 14th minute of play. Athol AFC's Allan Clifford played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luigi Crain in the 15th minute of play. Darin Bélair sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 18 minutes into the match, Winterton AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Kendrick Vernadeau came free, but Clément Rucker reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Clément Rucker took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kendrick Vernadeau, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 31st minute, Kendrick Vernadeau got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Clément Rucker made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kendrick Vernadeau in the 33rd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jérôme Duff during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jérôme Duff kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. In the 44th minute, Winterton AFC's Odilon Cressac seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Odilon Cressac the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Winterton AFC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Odilon Cressac had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee gave Athol AFC a penalty, 46 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Hunter Mabry, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Winterton AFC's Clément Rucker. 0-1. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

After a rather tough play, Athol AFC's Lindsey Acevedo got a free kick in the 52nd minute. In the 54th minute of the match Santiago Rochefort shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Allan Clifford showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Clément Rucker made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kendrick Vernadeau in the 60th minute of play. 60 minutes into the game, Kendrick Vernadeau cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Clément Rucker was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Len Hannah hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. In the 69th minute Athol AFC were awarded a corner. Hunter Mabry went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 70th minute, Hollis Massey left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Winterton AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. 75 minutes into the match, Winterton AFC's goalkeeper Clément Rucker had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Darin Bélair. Darin Bélair fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clément Rucker having to interfere. Athol AFC's Darin Bélair got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 92 minutes into the match, Winterton AFC's goalkeeper Clément Rucker had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Darin Bélair. Athol AFC played a much better game than Winterton AFC and deserved their victory. The Winterton AFC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
