After a defensive mix-up in Coulter's zone, Gilbert Ferris stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Antwan Bowman came out of the goal and Gilbert Ferris tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gilbert Ferris could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Antwan Bowman made a huge save. Josh Holloway shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. 40 minutes into the game, Kermit Bouchard cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Zane Hopper was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Chase Guillory fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zane Hopper having to interfere.
