The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thanh Vera showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. 11 minutes into the match, Kenora's goal looked a bit too open when Thanh Vera came free, but Rhett Mullins reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Rodolph Schneider had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Thanh Vera came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Drinkwater AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Thanh Vera couldn't finish the play. If Thanh Vera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 31 minutes into the match, Kenora's Ariel Santana sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dudley Chavis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Dudley Chavis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ariel Santana, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. 33 minutes into the game, Ariel Santana cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Dudley Chavis was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Thanh Vera in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The tension between the Drinkwater AFC and the Kenora players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 92 played minutes Drinkwater AFC got a freekick which was hit by Dewitt Brousse. A nice corner shot did that Thurman Herndon got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Dudley Chavis quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Ariel Santana could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 97th minute of the match, but Dudley Chavis made a huge save. Kenora's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
