With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcus Lam prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ashley Morin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 37 minutes, Walton Worley mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Queenstown FC and the Kelligrews AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Queenstown FC getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Walton Worley hit a great ball. Marcus Lam made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damion Tilley in the 38th minute of play. In the 39th match minute, Queenstown FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Walton Worley to maneuver through the defense. Kelligrews AFC's Jérôme McDonald got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 43rdth minute of the game Damion Tilley who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Queenstown FC's Marcus Lam was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
