Lenny Goins kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Barthélémy Aguilar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mickey Grondin in the 7th minute of play. When Ignacio Dodd fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ladner's protests and gave Ignacio Dodd a yellow card for diving instead. When Maynooth's Mickey Grondin in the 10th minute got a chance for a shot 10th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ladner's goalie prevented a goal. Lenny Goins hit a great ball. In the 16th minute Fidel Manuel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Barthélémy Aguilar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 18th minute, Benjamin McClelland hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The long shot by Lenny Goins in the 19th minute really tested Earnest Devine's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. When Gary Kyle came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Ladner fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gary Kyle couldn't finish the play. Lenny Goins charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lenny Goins the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Maynooth booed when Ladner was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lenny Goins didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 30th minute, Mickey Grondin made a precise shot to the right of Barthélémy Aguilar. Ladner's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Barthélémy Aguilar stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mickey Grondin's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Mickey Grondin put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Barthélémy Aguilar. Fidel Manuel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ladner's Barthélémy Aguilar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mickey Grondin in the 38th minute of play. 38 minutes into the match, Mickey Grondin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Barthélémy Aguilar. Ladner's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mickey Grondin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. After 41 minutes, Augustine Morin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ladner and the Maynooth players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 42nd match minute, Ladner was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Augustine Morin to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Augustine Morin got free with Earnest Devine in the 48th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

Earnest Devine took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Augustine Morin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ladner's Barthélémy Aguilar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Ladner from getting a goal against them. Gary Kyle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eloi Huggins hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. When Gary Kyle came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Ladner fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gary Kyle couldn't finish the play. Lenny Goins kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. 77 minutes in the game Eloi Huggins after having made a beautiful turn got a great opportunity to score and fired away a shot that went just to the left past a relieved Barthélémy Aguilar. A very good opportunity. Augustine Morin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Earnest Devine having to interfere. After having played for 88 minutes, Augustine Morin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ladner's supporters crossed their fingers, but Augustine Morin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 93 minutes into the match, Maynooth's goal looked a bit too open when Augustine Morin came free, but Earnest Devine reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ladner were awarded a corner in the 95th minute after Maynooth's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Lenny Goins took the corner. The corner led Ladner's Lenny Goins to fire away a dangerous shot which Earnest Devine despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. With an all-out effort, Maynooth's Barthélémy Aguilar threw himself towards the right post 97 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Mickey Grondin, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Maynooth's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
