The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Scott Ring showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Harold Tracy, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. When the match clock showed 9 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Allan Palencia sped through Chauvin's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Scott Ring. Whitewood's Harold Tracy got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Whitewood's Allan Palencia in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Chauvin's goalie prevented a goal. Allan Palencia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Harold Tracy might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Scott Ring. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Harold Tracy ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 22nd minute, Allan Palencia ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Scott Ring was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. If Harold Tracy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 33 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Whitewood's Allan Palencia fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. In the 35th minute Allan Palencia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Scott Ring saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Mark Richardson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Whitewood's Donald Castillo got a free kick in the 37th minute. Allan Palencia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Scott Ring tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Scott Ring took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Harold Tracy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Chauvin defense, Dewitt Charles kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Scott Ring. The Chauvin fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Scott Ring should have stopped the shot.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Allan Palencia stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Morgan Sampson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Roman Weidenfeller tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Domingo Nelson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Scott Ring took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Allan Palencia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Scott Ring stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Allan Palencia's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. When Whitewood's Allan Palencia in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Chauvin's goalie prevented a goal. A hard shot 70 in the game by Allan Palencia from a close distance when the talented Scott Ring managed to make a qualified save. Chauvin's players were relieved. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Allan Palencia in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Scott Ring prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 73 minutes, Harold Tracy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Whitewood's supporters crossed their fingers, but Harold Tracy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Harold Tracy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 89 in the game by Prospero Maju from a close distance when the talented Scott Ring managed to make a qualified save. Chauvin's players were relieved. Scott Ring took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Prospero Maju, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the final whistle sounded Whitewood left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Chauvin.
